Salasai showed their a/w 2011 collection, 'Sacrificial Grace', with Koudlam playing on their mixtape. We've got the track here just to help you get into a similar space. To be quite honest, it was this show in NZFW that we felt resonated with us. May have even answered some of our personal schizophrenic issues.

From a distance, as the models slowly descend down the runway, they exude a steely coldness that we immediately likened with the aura of Chiaki of Kill Bill, how she walks in slow-motion, her spiked flail swinging from side to side. Their clothing: minimalist smooth silhouttes, neither attention-seeking nor superfluous, it is almost purist and a hint effortless. They dress almost to remain in the background, awkward, on the edge of society.

Yet, as they get closer, one begins to see in detail; realizing the subtleties of Kirsha's work. The gold-foil 'skull caps', alien and otherworldly; amplify their hard-edged toughness. At the same time, the metal framed glasses and their chains hint at a return to the olde worlde... to the quirk of gran's wardrobe.

The looks are surprising, a quirky twist, not bound by any certain clique. Free to blur boundaries. That's what we take from it anyways.
